Ramps

Well, between bursts of rain, I haven't managed to do a great deal really L

Next to the steps we created yesterday, I am putting a ramp, to enable the wheelbarrow to travel easily between one part of the garden and another. We don't have a shed in the vegetable garden, so ramps are a necessary part of life.

I levelled the top where the next slab is going to go. It is 6 inches longer than the rest, so it will be placed sideways, making the ramp 2 feet 6 inches wide, which is plenty for a wheelbarrow to get up.

Being 25% bigger, it is also 25% heavier. It also wasn't particularly close to the site where it is to be laid. OH rolled it (if you can be said to roll something that is rectangular!).

When we first laid it, we realised it was about 1/4 inch lower than the slab next to it. We lifted it again and began to raise the level slightly - and then there was a huge cloud burst, so rain stopped play L

It doesn't look like it's going to stop any time soon, so nothing more doing today. Never mind, tomorrow is another day, as they say J
